The domestic homeowner grant closed in 2022; the current OZEV EV Chargepoint Grant is still open (to at least 2026-27) for flat-owners and renters. We check eligibility at survey.
UK Power Networks Southern is the local DNO for the Isle of Thanet. Under Engineering Recommendation G100, any EV chargepoint with automatic load-limiting to keep total draw within the property's supply capacity can be connect-and-notify. Anything without load-limiting, or that pushes total demand over the 60A domestic supply, needs G99 approval before energising. We submit both. You never talk to the DNO.
Ramsgate and Broadstairs Regency and Victorian townhouses often have cellar meter cupboards; the tidiest route is a cellar drop and a T-and-E clip-run to the drive. Cliftonville and Margate 1930s stock usually has a meter-cupboard-under-stairs; expect a through-wall run to the front. Rural Minster properties frequently have the meter on the boundary post, twenty metres from the house - the cable run is often the bulk of the job.
