Thanet Electrical is the district-scale electrical arm of NordSys Limited, run by founder Richard Lim. The idea is simple - one crew covering the whole isle rather than five overlapping town operators. Same UK Power Networks Southern relationship, same Thanet District Council building-control team, same materials in the van, same fixed pricing from Birchington to Minster.
Six services: consumer-unit and fusebox replacement; full and partial rewires; EICR reports for landlords, pre-sale and pre-purchase; EV charger installation with OZEV grant admin; solar and battery-storage electrical work; and LED and outdoor lighting including heritage fittings in listed properties.
Every fixed-wiring job is built to BS 7671:2018 Amendment 2:2022 - the 18th edition of the Wiring Regulations. Notifiable work is registered with Thanet District Council building control through our competent-person scheme, satisfying Part P of the Building Regulations. EICR reports are coded per the private-rented electrical safety standards regulations. DNO submissions (UK Power Networks Southern) for EV chargers, solar and battery go through the ENA portal - G98 for connect-and-notify installs, G99 for approval-required installs. You never talk to the DNO. Every fixed-wiring job carries a 10-year workmanship guarantee on top of that compliance work - if something we fitted fails, we come back and put it right at no charge.
Thanet is a compact peninsula, twelve miles end to end, one council district, one DNO region. The electrical problems repeat across it - salt-driven corrosion on north-facing installs from Birchington to Ramsgate, undersized meter tails on pre-1980 stock, plastic consumer units past their compliance life. A district-scale crew sees those patterns every week and has the parts on the van. A visiting sole trader from Canterbury doesn't.
